cool in spirit hot in temperature

DSCN6543_1, originally uploaded by lilylord.

Went to SF to visit Denise this past weekend. Oh-my-God-I-can-barely-breath kind of hot. One stop up the 5 saw a bed of Chrysathimums. Bright shiny sunshine yellow and burned to a crisp on top. 110 is almost intollerable. Crazy. First day it was all about Italian food (American Italian as Denise pointed out). Yummy, carby full of sugar. The next day was all French all the time. Sandwiches stuffed full of smoked salmon with lemon-aid that was This side of heaven. Oh so good. Castro, Castro. Passing by doors painted with bare breasted cartoon characters, and graffiti that would become art with the fairy godmother wand of a curator with influence. Art. San Francisco. Triple digit temperature in a heatwave that swept the state. Perfection.

Wan an Bridie,

The thread throughout your blog leads me to believe you are a gourmand, contrary to me. Of course, I like a good pizza (great ones just down the mountain road to la Plaine on the Swiss border.) But, I don’t eat much; just enough to keep me in trim for my daily bouts with my computer.

So you have a heat wave there in the Golden State. Ditto for Challex. But we have roller coaster weather here in the Jura Mountains. One day the temperature reaches the blast furnace level of 120° Fahrenheit, and then the next old mercury descends to below 70° Fahrenheit. You guessed it, with such a flux of temperature, storms with hail the size of tennis balls invade our area.

I’d love to see those bare breasted cartoon characters you describe.

Have a torrid day, but stay inside with the air conditioner turned on full blast.

Opps a daisy,

In my previouos message to you, I said I know you're a "gourmand". I know you aren't the type to stuff yourself to the brim and over with any type of food to fill your belly. What I meant to say is that I know your are a "gourmet", someone who savors different kinds of food to reach an eater's Nivrana. Mea Culpa
