Windy and hot
Unbelievable hot today. Had plenty of sun at Ashanti's 1st birthday. Great to see Apryl's family and eveyone else. Tons of kids being cute. Hung out in their huge backyard and relaxed. Came home, beat from the sun. I'm such a wimp. I have no idea how people in really hot climates can take it. Nor, how women of 100 years ago could have stood hot summer sun with their confining Edwardian dresses, corsets and....no air conditioning. True ladies changed their outfits many times a day. No wonder, their outfits probably were soaked through. I think it was only around 90 but it felt like hot lead was coursing through my veins. Was able to get in the car, blast the AC and get some relief. Living in the future can be good.

Because we are freezer-cold here in Challex, I would like to be with you in LA to soak up some of that warm stuff.
Getting used to hot weather is like learning to grin-and-bare-it. When visiting us in Indonesia, your Aunt Fran fainted because of the sweat-cascading weather. I came to rescue with several pinches of salt in a glass of water. Lo and behold, Aunt Fran was up and raring to go as she most always is. Ditto for Cousin Selene.
After awhile I got used to the hot weather. In fact, I turned the air conditioning unit off in our home because I was always getting colds from the abrupt changes in temperature when I went outside. But clothing had lots to do with the survival technique. I wore clothes like the natives, who were savvy about how to dress in furnace-hot climes.
Just grin and bear it, Bridie. Cooler climes are soon on you.
Was just wondering how much hot their it could, would that be hotter then some part over here, where mercury rising is around 45 to 47 degree C and sometimes even more?
There are places in the world where the heat is astronomical, such as in the Taklaman desert. But there the humidity is low.
In Indonesia the temperature is very high, but combine that heat with humidity that approaches 90 %, then there's a problem.
